MONTEJHA | WHERE WE LEFT OFF…

I got in my car and sped home. I needed a few days to myself. I made a post on my Instagram and told them I had an emergency and would be unavailable for the next few days. I was tired of this love shit beating my ass every time. Maybe it was time I just moved to Cali like I been wanting to. I don’t know, I just needed a change. Maybe I needed a vacation. After packing my bag, I hurriedly grabbed my suitcase and rolled it toward my front door. I had everything I needed for the next two weeks. Whatever else, I would just have to buy it on my way. I walked outside and locked my place up before I could turn around, I heard a gun cock. I instantly reached for my purse.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” a voice said.

“Come take a ride with us, walk toward the black Suburban normally, or else,” she said. I nodded, but since I knew it was a female, I wasn’t about to hold her up. As soon as she put the gun away, I stole off on her. Wasn’t no bitch about to kidnap me by herself? This bitch was strong as fuck, but in life or death situations, you would be surprised at your own strength. I had slammed her on the ground on her back when a shot grazed past my ear. I instantly froze.

“I missed on purpose, pick up your bag, and let’s go,” she said. I did as she told me, as we walked up to the black on black Suburban. I climbed in, and it was a bitch in all black, facing the window, and two niggas sitting in the third row, with guns. What the fuck kind of shit was this? When she turned around facing me, I was fucking stuck as the truck sped off, and I was sure my facial expression read that.

“You’re even more beautiful in person, girl. You see those three big ass trucks that just flew past us? They were on their way to you.” She smiled. I looked at the three black Escalades whipping past us, and my heart started beating rapidly.

“Take us to the jet, this should be fun. You ever flew before?” she asked.

Staring at this lady, I was in complete awe. As they instructed me to get on the Jet, I just sat there going through the motions speechless. This lady resembled me, she looked like an older version of me if I wasn’t mistaken. I was so lost and confused. I had no words to say as she smiled brightly at me.

“You nervous? Here, have a glass of my favorite wine,” she instructed, while some guy popped the bottle and handed us two glasses before filling them with red wine. I quickly took a few sips as we buckled up and prepared for takeoff. I was nervous as hell.

“You look just like me when I was your age.” She smiled

“You, who. What the hell?” I finally got out.

“You are so beautiful niece, I never thought I’d get the chance to meet you.” She smiled hugely.

“Niece? You’re my aunt?” I exclaimed. This lady looked no older than thirty, and she was talking about I looked like her when I was her age. Niece? I didn’t know my father had a sister. ‘cause she damn sure wasn’t my aunt on my mother’s side.

“Yes, honey. I’m your Auntie Montaej. I’m sure you haven’t heard about me because your mother wants nothing to do with me. I’m your father’s twin sister.” She cheesed. I frowned quickly.

“I don’t even know my father for real,” I started. She nodded.

“I know, it’s unfortunate what Monte senior has become. I don’t know why he turned out like that, we had a good upbringing you know. I know we’ve done some crazy things in our day, but never nothing for him to fall off the way he did.” She sipped her wine.

“Your mother and I were best friends for over twenty years. It wasn’t till when she got pregnant with you that I found out she was fucking my brother behind my back since she was sixteen. Your mother was my right-hand woman until she had you and fucked up our money. I told her from day one, he was off limits. There was a reason why I told her that, my brother was married to our plug’s daughter,” she told me.

“Wow.” I sat there. My auntie was spilling the tea today.

“It was supposed to be us three at the top, but they started getting into some scandalous ass shit. So, my plug noticed it and he wanted to kill them, but he didn’t because I intervened. He told me I had to cut them out of the business completely or he was gone cut me loose as well. So, I tried to stall with cutting them off for a long time. I was covering for them while trying to figure out what was wrong. In the meantime, your mother had my nephew Monte junior. Still not owning up to the fact that she and my brother are fucking. Said she named him after Monte because of how close we were. But I in the back of my head, I always knew. One day, I caught her doing some foul shit
, so I started to beat her motherfucking ass, and my brother swung on me over her. I was so fucking hurt. But at the same time, I had yet to tell them they were cut off, so I told them right then and there. Now at the time, I didn’t know she was pregnant with you. They had gone broke, and everything and cps came and took Monte Junior from your momma because they found drugs in her system and at the house. Your momma hated my guts, told everybody I was foul. I was fucking any nigga moving and slandered my damn name. I told her when she dropped you, I was fucking her up on site. But I had too much to do, never gave them the time of day again. I haven’t seen her since.” She looked out the window, I could tell she was hurt by it. I took a few sips of my wine. She looked at me and gave me a small smile.

“I guess it is true that whoever you hated during your pregnancy is who your child will look like. So, I’m guessing she hated my guts the entire pregnancy because here you are looking just like me. Thank God I was the pretty twin.”

“Then why send that girl to attack me and shoot at me?” I asked her.

“It was the only way you would listen. We tried the nice way, you whooped her ass, and we had literally seconds to get away from there,” she argued. I nodded, she was right.

“So where are we going,” I asked.

“You’ll see. Just sit back and relax.” She kicked off her Louboutin heels.

“Whew my damn feet killing me.” She massaged her feet.

Once our jet landed, the guy grabbed my bag, and my auntie held my hand as we climbed down the stairs. I didn’t know where we were, but it was hot as hell. I was ready to get in someone’s house under some air condition. We got in the all-white rolls Royce that awaited us, and I knew then my auntie had bread. As if the private jet wasn’t enough to convince me, this car solidified it. The handsome security guard helped me in the car while smiling at me.

“Don’t try it, Tino, she’s off limits,” she snapped at him, and he chuckled before driving off. He sped off, and after driving for a few moments, we pulled up in this neighborhood where the houses were spread out. Finally pulling up to this beautiful gate, he pulled up so that my aunt could press the code open and the beautiful gates opened as we pulled in. Pulling into the driveway, I noticed to the right of me the fountain and the home was freaking amazing. I was in awe.

“You’re welcome to visit me anytime you want, you can even move in.” She smiled, helping me out the car. We walked to her front door and when I walked in two puppies came running and barking at me.

“Mommy!” I heard a little voice say and feet running toward the door.

“Hey, momma’s baby. Did you miss me?” My auntie smiled hugely, picking the chocolate baby girl up with her hair all over her head.

“Of course, dad did too, where you been ma? Who is this?” Her little self-drilled my auntie. I couldn’t help but laugh she was so cute.

“GG, relax in front of company. Hey bae.” A tall, dark and handsome ass man came around the corner pecking my auntie on the lips. He reached to give me a hug and the man smelled so good.

“What’s up Montejha, nice to meet you.” He smiled, and I looked at my auntie.

“I know girl, that’s why I picked my husband. He fine ain’t he.” My auntie laughed at my facial expressions.

“This is your big cousin Montejha, she’s going to be sleeping in the room next to yours little one. Tee this is my daughter Grei or as she likes to be called GG and this is my husband Grayson also known as your uncle Geechi,” she introduced. I nodded.

“She’s pretty like us, mommy.” Grei smiled as my auntie sat her down. She was so stinking cute.

“Aww thank you, GG.” I smiled.

“GG will show you to your room.” She put GG down.

“Come with me Monteej.” She smiled up at me, grabbing my hand. She led me through the house, and it was freaking beautiful. She pulled me to my room, and I took it all in. It was beautiful, and I sat on the bed and instantly melted in the mattress.

“I hope you like it here. Sometimes I get bored,” she whispered.

“Where are we exactly?” I asked her.

“Memphus.” She smiled. Oh wow, what the hell was I doing way in Memphis?

“Okay, cool. Thank you,” I told her. She smiled at me, then sprinted out of the room. My auntie Montaej peeked her head in the room.

  “Everything okay?” she asked.

“Yes, it’s fine,” I told her.

“Okay, well, it’s getting late. I’m about to shower and start cooking. Meatloaf okay with you?” she asked.

  “Yes, that’s fine.” I nodded.

“Maybe you can shower and meet me downstairs in like a half hour. So, we can talk more about why you’re here.” She gave me a small smile. I nodded.

  “Okay,” I told her.

I was ready in twenty minutes, but my auntie was in the room getting her swerve on with her husband. Shit, I didn’t blame her, my uncle Geechi was handsome as fuck. I went downstairs in my yoga pants and Nike t-shirt. I had on my tube socks, and I heard little footsteps coming around the corner.

“Wanna see my new toys.” She smiled. Grei was missing her front tooth, and it was so adorable.

“Sure.” I walked behind her and back up the stairs.

Shortly after my tea party with GG, my auntie came and broke it up. She was smiling, and her hair was up in a satin scarf. She had on a black tank with some black tights, and I could definitely see where I got most of my curves from.

  “You ready?” she asked.

“Yeah, sure. Sorry GG,” I told her.

“It’s okay. You can come back later.” She continued playing with her dolls. I followed my auntie downstairs, and she turned her music on, and we started cooking. She had me peeling the potatoes.

“I came and got you because your name was brought up as a target,” she started. I stopped cutting the potatoes and looked at her.

“What do you mean a target,” I frowned.

“Meaning exactly what I said Montejha. I don’t know if you’re familiar with the game or not, but niggas will do anything to come for the next nigga’s throne. Nothing is off limits in a war including your enemy’s significant other,” she stressed. I just stood there, my mind was in overdrive right now. We stood there quietly until she finally broke the silence..

“I need to know exactly how you feel about Kato Leon Karter. I need you to be completely honest with me. I know we haven’t known each other but a few hours. But you can trust me?” she asked me, and I could tell by looking in her eyes she was being honest. I stood there thinking of all the good with Kato. My heart started beating fast just at the sound of her saying his name. Sure, Kato was known to everyone as nothing more than a hood, thug ass nigga. But he loved me, and I loved him.

“I’ll be honest, we didn’t leave off on the best of terms. But if I’m being completely honest. When I look into his eyes, I see our future together. I want forever with him, and I know I sound crazy because of all the shit we’ve been through recently, but I love him,” I admitted. She looked me square in my eyes and nodded.

“Okay. I get it, I got it now.” She nodded. I just stared at her.

“It’s about to be a lot of bloodshed Montejha, and I don’t think he’s even aware of who or what is coming his way because of who he is,” she started. I looked at her confused.

“What, who? What do you mean who he is? He’s Kato,” I told her. She shook her head and smiled.

“You may know Kato. But to everyone else, he’s Khaos. Not only is he Khaos, one of the most ruthless men known, he’s an infamous Karter.” She paused.

“Yeah, Kato Leon Karter, I know that. I don’t know what’s the big deal. He don’t really have no family like that,” I started, and she shook her head.

“He has a family. There’s a reason Khaos is who he is and acts the way he acts, it’s in the Karter blood. It’s embedded in him. All the Karter’s are ruthless, cold-hearted men. So, I’m gone ask you again.” She paused. “Is he who you want, is this th
e lifestyle you want in on?” she asked. It was something about her tone and the underlying message in her question that had me reconsidering my answer.

KATO | PUTTING A FACE TO THE LETTERS.

“This nigga here, yeah bitch. Give me my bread,” I shouted at this nigga Slim. I had been hitting his pockets all fucking night, and he had been talking slick under his breath. But when this nigga mentioned my girl name, I ignored this nigga at first. After we got through, he pulled me to the side.

“I see your girl, how well you know shorty?” he asked. I took another pull from my blunt and pulled up my pants. I passed the blunt to this nigga Oz.

“Why the fuck you keep mentioning my bitch name?” I asked him.

“If we keeping it a hundred, I don’t give a fuck about yo’ scandalous ass bit.” He couldn’t even finish ‘cause I had rocked him in his motherfucking jaw.

“Bitch ass nigga don’t fucking play with me,” I barked as they helped him up; he kept talking shit.

“Yo bitch is a grimy ass scheming hoe. I was trying to warn yo’ hoe ass, but now. I’ll just let that bitch set you up like she did me,” he spat, and I walked off and out the house.

Now here I was meeting up with this stupid hoe Kensli. She done brought her rat ass sister with her for whatever reason. I was trying to talk to this bitch nicely about getting a DNA test because as of right now, she was refusing to get one. But Tejha bringing her ass in here acting like America’s Greatest Hood rat had me blown. Before I could blink, shit went haywire all I knew was my motherfucking face was stinging from her slapping the shit outta me. That’s when shit went left. She slapped me, and I instantly saw myself locked up for fucking her little ass up. She had me fucked up.

“You can let me go. Because I didn’t even come for you bitches, but y’all wanna swing at me. Well let’s fucking go head up,” she growled, trying to break free from me.

“You not going head up with nobody. Chill the fuck out Tej, baby look at me,” I told her, trying to calm her down, but she shook her head. Her eyes started watering, and she tried to look away before I saw.
